In a world of instragram reels, with so much of exciting encounters , BGT is re-loading and this time it looks such an event. While I am getting excited for 2:30 AM morning on Nov 22nd , would like to share my top 5 encounters of BGT so far -
Kolkata, 2001: This match is legendary! India was in a tough spot, following on after the first innings. But then came VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid with an incredible 376-run partnership. Laxman's 281 and Dravid's 180 turned the game around. Harbhajan Singh's hat-trick and his 13 wickets in the match sealed a dramatic 171-run victory for India. It was a true underdog story!
Adelaide, 2003: This was a classic Test match. Rahul Dravid was the hero, scoring a magnificent 233 in the first innings and an unbeaten 72 in the second. Ajit Agarkar's 6 for 41 in the second innings helped India secure a memorable four-wicket win against a formidable Australian team.
Mohali, 2010: Talk about a nail-biter! India needed 216 to win, and it came down to the wire. VVS Laxman, despite a back injury, played a gutsy knock of 73 not out. With just one wicket remaining, he guided India to a thrilling victory. The tension in that match was unbelievable!
Chennai, 2001: The final Test of the 2001 series was a real cliffhanger. Harbhajan Singh was the star again, taking 15 wickets in the match, including 8 for 84 in the second innings. India won by just 2 wickets, clinching the series 2-1. The atmosphere was electric!
Brisbane, 2021: This match will go down in history. Australia hadn't lost at the Gabba for 32 years, but India chased down 328 on the final day. Rishabh Pant's unbeaten 89 was the highlight, leading India to a historic victory and a 2-1 series win. It was a moment of pure joy and pride for Indian cricket fans.
